This one was made for a client that wanted a 12" X 12" pine cone painting. I didn't want to add anything more in the composition, but got more room to play with the interaction between the pine cone and the background.
Now you've got it! The client has walked away with the best one. I like it better than the others because the cone is off center eliminating the target effect, the background has some strong value changes which have been brought into the object melding the positive and negative spaces together. All sections of the canvas are copasetic. Very nice work.

I agree with Roth on the design and background. This one captivates my interest for sure. BUT...my hubby prefers the previous cone and to him the best is still Pine Cone Abstraction 1.
