I have been absent for a while and I haven't had any serious painting time for months.
It started with the idea of starting to plan the next part of our life, getting a larger place to live in.
That meant fixing/renovate our kitchen etc., selling our apartment, finding a house to buy and moving there.
Well, we have 6 weeks to pack our things and move to our first house. A lot more space (with a real studio space to paint in), a garden etc. I am looking forward to it.
I am going to try to get one painting done before it is time to focus on packing. It is for my own pleasure and to get my mind off things. I think I am going for a large version of an old favorite of mine.
I also took the time to go through old paintings and destroyed the ones that I didn't like, wasn't good enough or interesting enough to keep. The final count was around 70 paintings, so that makes the move slightly lighter.
I hope I will get back to some regular painting soon.
This is a picture of some of the paintings that are no longer.
Good luck, Roger!

SvaraRaderaHappy weekend Roger !!!
Congratulations on your new home and studio! You have been busy--and will be till you're settled. These discards were all stepping stones to the painter you've become. They served their purpose. Nothing we do is a waste of time. We learn more from our disasters than our successes. Nice to catch up. Take it easy and enjoy this milestone in your life.
