I'm finally painting again. Not sure if this will be a series of this new subject, but so far I have fun and have done 4 paintings so far. It was actually my father who suggested that I would give Pine cones a try. I had some doubt in the beginning, not sure if I could pull it of and do something interesting, but I gave it a go.
This one is rather big, but I intend to do some smaller ones too.
Something different and very interesting, I hope to be a good start for your new series !!!
SvaraRaderaThank you Mystelio. I think it is a very specific and interesting shape, very sculpture. Have done a few now, and they all got a very natural earthy feel. Not sure if I can push it in a new direction or not, but I think I will try.

RaderaYou definitely changed the subject and this is amazing ! You know, I would love to see a photo of this one on a wall with you ,a chair or whatever beside it to get the feeling of how big it really is .

SvaraRaderaThank you Nan. I have done a few now. Most of them as a single pinecone painting, but I have done two paintings with more than one. I'm not sure why, but so far all of them has gone in the direction of earthy natural colors. If I will do more all depend if I can go more bolder and really experiment.

SvaraRaderaCette pomme de pin ou "babet" dans mon langage gaga / stéphanois ! (de la ville de Saint-Etienne)... est vraiment superbe.
Il n'est pas simple du tout de dessiner et peindre cet organe reproducteur ! Il faut savoir y placer la lumière et chaque facette est comme un miroir... elle capte les couleurs.
J'aime beaucoup le choix des belles nuances de bleus que vous avez utilisées pour le fond.
Bravo ! j'en veux encore... Pour allumer le feu, il en faut une bonne "boge" (en gaga!) = sac !!...

Thanks Martine. Glad you like it. I really have to fight the urges to do too much details, want to keep the simplicity and the hint of the structure.
RaderaThe pine cone is interesting. It too has a central point from which all the branches project, albeit, a vortex. A view from above might be a view to explore?
SvaraRaderaThanks Linda. A pine cone is fun and very specific. That's both it's advantages and it's flaws. I would like to go more bolder, stepping out from that earthy character. Have to see if I get inspired to do some more done.
