Face Exploration 9

I got two more paintings of faces to post. Until now I have posted the previous ones in the order they were painted, but I think I will post the latest one first. I really went back to basics with this one, even though the brush strokes are still very expressive. I took a lot more creative license with the one that is left.

    1. Thank you Catharina. It is not a self portrait. I usually start with inspiration from a picture, but I don't aim for likeness. I go with the progress and only use the reference photo as a guide for shadows etc.

    1. Thank you Art-traveller. I went with more normal colors with this one, but took them as far as possible.

    1. Thank you Linda. I am not sure if I am so self assure, at least not at the moment. I am working myself out a creative slump. Things didn't work, lack of energy and inspiration and finally I was too hard on myself, comparing myself with others and only seeing flaws in what I was doing.

Things are starting to improve though.. =)
