This was my 3rd version of this composition. They are all similar, but in different sizes. This was the middle size. I wanted to see how much my approach changed with size, if it meant more brush strokes and details, or if I could keep the same simplicity. The two small paintings has the same feel, but the larger one demanded more details.
Great still life , beautiful high lights and the way you made the cloth , clean and beautiful.
SvaraRaderaSuper Roger! Okay, I just want to know how you developed this crazy gorgeous style of yours?!
SvaraRaderaA wonderful composition and a vivid style! Really like the apples, they're beautifully painted!
SvaraRaderaThe last two paintings have a different composition from your other work--less abstract. I was surprised. I agree with Hilje, they are beautifully painted, but then all of your work is beautifully painted. I have found over the last weeks painting small that the larger the surface, the more the planes must be broken up to achieve dimension, the smaller the format, simplicity is best. But do stay away from oils. After working in acrylics, they are not fun. :-))
