Flower Exploration 44

This is a painting that I started/painted a while ago, before I started putting flowers into vases. It was my first experimentation with putting multi flowers together. The idea behind this one is a "Pile of flowers". I liked the result, but never finished it, didn't know where to take it. It sat there a long time, until I finally took the effort to do so.

I did this a while ago, I tend to go with a theme right now until I get bored or feel that I don't adding anything new to the table. Going smaller mean keeping it simple,clean and not to overwork it with details.

I'm not suppose to post this yet, but I wanted to share a painting that show where I am right now. I want to go outside my comfort zone without loosing my identity. It is a fine line between loosing control and being in control. 

When I paint, I don't have a finished painting in my head. It is a progress that depend on what I feel and every brush stroke will have impact on the finished painting. Part of going outside my comfort zone is to not letting a bad start have an impact, to keep painting. 

This painting slowly came together and there were many times that I wanted to quit, but I really like the end result. Organized chaos.

While I considered on keeping part or the whole "Autumn Berry Abstraction 12" painting, I decided  to make this one. It is a new version of one of the parts that I really liked.

This one was inspired by the previous paintings in this series and the favorite colors of a collector. This is a good example of a painting that painted itself. I trusted my skill and judgment and had some fun. I really like this one, one of my favorites at this moment.

Finally I have a beautiful and functional greenhouse. It took a lot of time, hard of work, but in the end, it was worth it.
This is a painting that I did a while back. It is a flower abstraction that has a limited color palette and has a lot of impact.

The Easter Exhibition is over and I am left with a lot of positive energy, time to get painting again (unless I get stuck in our garden). I did this one recently and it was a result of liking a part of a painting that I am not sure going to get finished.

I would never be where I am if I didn't go outside my comfort zone and it is also the reason why I went from an occasional painter to a painter that is on a continuous journey. I get a lot of energy from it.
This one of those times when I went for it, learned a lot, and liking what I see. I especially like the clean aspect against the rough one.

May main subject has been landscapes for a while, at least since I got back after my break. Lately I have felt that it was time to paint something else and what I have felt strongest for is continue explore non-figurative abstract art. This is one of my latest paintings.

I have done a lot of landscapes and nature related subjects lately and got the urge to go more abstract,  a nice change of pace. I tend to avoid going light. Partly because light mean less color and partly because going light conflict with my white and yellow lines. I know that I can make it work, but it still impact my work, something I have to work with.

I actually painted this one before my previous/last post. I played with shapes and lines and I liked the result very much and it became my inspiration for "Tree Abstraction 61" .

Only one month left until my Easter exhibition, and every painting is done and judged from that perspective. It is not a question if a painting is good or bad, the only thing on my mind is if it possible fit to show. This one is large, but one of the smallest ones that I am considering to include in the exhibition. 

Still have to take a better picture of it though.

This is one of my smaller landscape paintings. I know that it isn't that small, but I don't like going too small, doesn't fit my style of painting. I can go smaller, but I really have to be in the right frame of mind.

I did have something else in mind with the lower part of this painting, but I couldn't make it work, so I had to use my own intuition. Some things look great in a picture (real life), but it doesn't mean that it translate in a good way when painting it.

After a few wipes it was time to slow things down and not rush it. I am pleased with this medium size landscape, but I had to work for it. I am not in the zone yet. I just have to remind myself to slow down, not over think things and have fun.

Still not able to paint, but soon I hope. This is a flower abstraction painting that takes advantage of a rejected painting. I did a transparent red/pink layer and used it in the composition. Sometimes a rejected painting can still lead to something. The downside with acrylic (compared to oil) is that I can't wipe a canvas/panel, but sometimes I can use what I got left with.

This is a painting that is all about experimentation and having fun.

I wanted to do a very mono chromic painting, with flowers peaking through, but with enough contrasts to make it work. It was challenge to use as much red as I did in this painting, and fun to experiment. I don't always no where I am going, but I know that I have to go in some direction.
