I have been exploring and painting landscapes/trees a lot, more or less abstract. I have worked without reference, going with my instinct. I will use photos for references and ideas, but for now I have focused on the shapes of the trees, trying out things.

I considered to post a painting that I did a while back, for change of pace, but I think I stick with what I am doing right now. Can post the older paintings if I take a break or something.

This is a color variation on the flower exploration theme. I keep finding "what if" ideas, which is a good thing, driving me forward outside my comfort zone.

I thought I start the new year with a painting that are one of my favorite paintings right now. The painting is larger than what I have been working with this autumn, needed to mix things up. I am keeping this one to my self for now, as a reference and inspiration piece.

Autumn Berry Abstraction 13

I know I haven't been posting anything for a while, but I have been busy preparing for my Easter exhibition and I have been doing a lot of work in the garden (pulling down a high hedge with European Beech and replacing it with a fence etc. A lot of work, but I love it. I might post some pictures of it later.

I am sure others have the same problem as me regarding prices. The exchange rate change over time and should price include shipping cost? My thoughts right now is to put prices on my small paintings, but not for my large work. The prices on my large work will reflect several aspects, depending on where the buyer lives etc.

This is a painting I did a while back. It is full of energy and I tried to capture the wild nature.

This is another one that has been posted earlier, but in a new context. It is a semi large berry abstraction and I love the elements and colors in this one. It is very diverse, but still cohesive.

This a large, well semi large at least, autumn abstraction painting. I wanted to contrast the bold warm colors with muted cold ones. This is my favorite painting right now.

This is  a medium size abstraction that I painted after the 2 large ones (posted earlier). I wanted to give it the same feeling, but on a smaller scale. I think it turned out great.

This was a great break, because it left me with some great energy and I am looking forward to paint again.

I felt that it was time to leave the non-figurative abstract art for now and I went back to my flower abstractions, but with the ambition to push my limits, going outside my comfort zone.

Didn't want to push too hard, just enough..... and I like the result.

Last painting was had a very specific color scheme and look. I tried to go the opposite with this one, taking inspiration from nature, but going in an abstract way. I can finally say that I am back painting and having some fun again.

I did this a while back and was ahead of time, this berries is getting read around now. There is a lot of similar berry bushes/trees, even if these isn't common everywhere.

This painting was originally rectangular, but I thought it lacked focus and cut the canvas down and re-framed it as a square.

This is one of my semi large flower abstractions. Not sure if it is the time of the year, or the fact that we got a lot of plans and work around our own garden, but very few subjects interest me to paint for the moment.

We bought and moved to our first house in December last year and this is the first summer for us with a garden. We har removed a 34 meter (37 yards) European Beech tree hedge and replaced it ourself with a wood fence. We removed 74 plants/trees and the roots was no picnic.
Hopefully we get our new greenhouse tomorrow, which will take time and energy to put together, but I am looking forward to it.

I did this one before my garden project and the subject is one of my favorites, love the shapes and colors, even if it is early yet.

This is a colorful bird's nest painting in my 3rd largest format. It was also the first one that I used mixed acrylic media on. It took a while to get things sorted out, but it was worth it.

This a painting that gave me a lot of problem, but turned out great and is one of my favorites right now. I tried to do a composition that in the end required me to go more naturalistic/realistic than I like. I solved it by keeping what I liked and worked the composition around it.  I am glad that I didn't give up.

I have a lot of fun experimenting with these flower concepts, trying different approaches. After doing restrained and simplified I went bold and wild with this one.

I have gradually gone larger and the thought behind this is work on contrast, values and color.  I made the flowers colorful, but in a dark way, and contrasting them to a vibrant background.
