This is my entry to "The Sunflower(s) Challenge" on Daily Paintworks Homepage. I have done two paintings, have to see if both will be posted as challenge entries or not. The challenge was to have fun and paint Sunflowers. I'm not sure why, since there were no reason too, but I did two failed attempts cause I lost my way, got too wrapped up in how many petals etc the flowers had. I was very frustrated nothing worked for me, then I did this one. I took the elements of a Sunflower, but I tweaked it and did it my way.

This is my contribution to this weeks Daily Paintworks Challenge "The Crazy Making Challenge". The challenge provided a photo of a mannequin dressed in a white and black striped dress, surrounded by mirrors, which means a lot of reflections. I didn't feel like painting a mannequin, but liked the abstract qualities of the stripes, so I cropped the photo really hard, let it inspire me and had some fun with it.

that can be found at the "Shoot and paint blog". The paintings were inspired by the reference photo that was provided.

I have done two paintings for the  "January Art Challenge". I love the apple that was provided and used it instead of something I got. This is the larger of the two and shows more of the draping of the cloth.

I have had two commissions doing small remakes of older paintings and I think they came out very well, so why stop. This is a remake of an old challenge painting that I like. I have kept the original myself, so this is a smaller version of it.

I like to paint flowers.
I like to crop motives, going up close to the motive.
I like "in your face" compositions and paintings.
I like to simplify and go partially abstract.

With all these things in mind, this weeks DPW Challenge, the Rose challenge, should be fun to do.
This is my first go at it, more will follow, I am sure of it. It was fun.

I haven't done many of the challenges that are out there lately. Some of them didn't inspire me, but the main reason for not doing them has been that I have had a blast doing my own things.

I saw this weeks challenge on the Daily Paintworks homepage, and that is a challenge I could find inspiration for many paintings, but for time being, I continue my own path.
I did squeeze in time to do one painting for the challenge. I took some photos of rocks last year, but haven't done anything with them yet. The shadows of the rocks are a big part of making it interesting. I think I can do better, but for a first attempt I think it is OK.

Well, this is a first, have never painted blueberries or raspberries. I thought these berries would be appropriate for this weeks DPW's "The Paint it Before You Eat it Challenge", so I gave it a go. It is always a challenge to simplify something, but I have to admit, those raspberries scared me.

This is my take on this weeks DPW challenge "The White on White Challenge". Initially I didn't think I do this one, and it didn't trigger any inspiration, but then I though, what the heck, lets go for it and do a quick attempt.
Naturally I got inspired doing it and I took it my way, and created an black and white world with a hint of color.

I am not suppose to post this one for several hours, but since it is my contribution to this weeks DPW Challenge I thought I post it anyway. The challenge was make a painting around Pantone's color of 2012, a color called "Tangerine Tango". It's been a while since I did any flowers, so I thought this one was a perfect opportunity to do Lilies. Went looser again, trying to make it lively and a little on the rough side.

Finally I got this weeks DPW challenge done. I am not a breakfast kind of guy, and I felt that I got out of my comfort zone. Never done an raw egg before and I haven't found my way to do plates, forks and cups yet.
I decided to go with a broken egg. It is interesting and is a real challenge.

This week I thought I do "The DPW Challenge" , thought it seemed like a fun and value lesson. I chose a familiar subject and went for it. Must say that the experience was strange. Not so much with the tomatoes I changed from red to green, or green to red, but the ones that were not ripe yet. I did them in the pink/purple range of colors and I hope they still considers to be tomatoes (even though they look as they come from Mars or something. Some things comes in all colors, the hard ones to change is those things who doesn't. Had a lot of fun.

This is what I worked from. I took some creative freedom when it came to the colors and composition.

I usually take a look at challenges that comes along. This one was a challenge on Rookie painter's blog . The challenge was to do your take on a photo, which included two strawberries and a stack of bowls. I chose to crop the shit out of the photo. I might do another one later with a hint of the bowls, but no promises.
This was my first strawberries I have ever painted, so I had a lot of fun with them.

I often do a challenge more than once, especially if I like it. This one I did because I did the first one with really dark Horse-chestnuts. I also used an orange under-painting, something I usually don't do. Really like the effect it have on the painting.

This weeks challenge on the Daily Paintwork homepage is called  The 10 Minute Challenge - Again. This is my take on it. I did have some problems with keeping up the pace & paint drying up on me. Overall I think I did. OK with follow the directions/rules of the challenge, but I did some final finish brush strokes to finish the painting.

This challenge felt a little bit strange, spooky since I recently did "12 squares of waterlily fun 2".
