When I painted this I liked the pile of cherries, but I had no idea in what context I wanted to have them in. I decided to go dark, moody and almost an almost colorless background. I might do another one with more vivid colors later.
I took a look. I thought Cherries in Winter. The juxtaposition of red against ice cold colors is probably what brought that title to mind? I'm glad to see you doing more 16 x 16 sizes. The little stuff is table-top art.
The gray background is beautiful. It's hard to get a wash of nice gray in watercolour so I admire what you've done. I like the bit of red underpainting showing through too.

SvaraRaderaLove the warm cherries on the icy colored background. Looks very Scandinavian.
SvaraRaderaI love this, it gives me a feeling of pure and crisp, and like Robin said...very Scandinavian.
