I am not painting right now, got my mind on other things. Making frames for my Easter exhibition and garden work take all my free time and energy. 

Finished the fence on the front of the house today, might do some minor changes, so I post it when I am sure it is finished. We might have been crazy, but we worked through the cold, rain and wind.

This is an abstract painting that I did a few weeks back. I often react over the harmony in this painting. I really like the vibe I got from this one.

This is one of my abstract paintings where I reduce color, not totally black and white, but scaling down to one color one additional color.

One learn more from some paintings than others. I learned a lot from this one. I had a lot of fun exploring and the process is based on organized chaos. I played with shapes, colors and brush strokes, guided by the process in itself.

This is one of my newest bird's nest paintings. I have tried to push them be more abstract, where it is not as important to read them as bird's nests. In the end, I want them to be bold, colorful and fun.

Going non-figurative abstract really gives me the opportunity to go outside my comfort zone and pushing my boundaries. I think that helps me in general and be present when I paint flowers, bird's nests etc.

This abstract painting is in the same style as earlier ones, but I pushed the light parts. I tend to avoid light colors since one of my trade marks is my light line work. That is something that I am experimenting with.

I am still in the garden phase, but I am slowly getting the urge to paint and have started to consider what to start with.... that is a good sign.

This is a painting that I did earlier, before my Easter exhibition. I didn't post it or included it in the exhibition because I painted several variations of this theme/composition.

I like them all, including this one and they were a popular subject in my exhibition.

I usually do single flower compositions on small panels, but I wanted to experiment with the colors and textures and went a little larger than usual. The result is a distinct flower on a vibrant background.

One more flower painting that is loosely based on the Iris flower, but an early one, before  I took it all the way with details. I like the soft value changes between the blues and purples.

This is a very spontaneous and exploratory  painting of yellow cone flowers.

This is one of my latest paintings and the subject is one of my favorites. A good subject can be done, explored and approached in many ways. Being an endless inspiration source helps too. I am still considering what the next one will be. I went smaller with this one, and really focused on keeping it direct and graphic. I have tried a new size (10" x 10") and I like that it gives me more freedom, but is  still quite small.

I think I have changed and improved a lot since I started to paint seriously and regulary. I have been thinking of going through older paintings and see if anyone of them deserve a 2nd try. There can be compositions and ideas that might be good. I never did before, but now I often do more than one version of a subject/composition.
This one is based on an earlier painting, not that old though, but I cropped the composition and went down in size. It is very direct and raw.
