Tree abstraction 3

I have had a blast lately painting my "Tree abstraction" paintings. One painting lead to another and so on.

This one was done right after "Tree abstraction 2" (one of my favorite paintings this year), and is similar in color and mood. Tried out a few new things, for example I used a rubber tip pencil to scrape off wet paint.
When I do get into one of these series, a new painting is either a reaction to the latest (big difference) or trying out things that pops in my head during the last one (what if I did that instead).
Got some large ones to show later that I am very pleased with.

Have a great weekend.

    1. Thanks Karen. I have started to work on structures and getting things a little gritty, but still have the crisp graphic look. Got a lot of work ahead of me. =)

  3. Interesting to explore all the different ways the same subject can be painted, it makes a great series , and this is gorgeous !

    1. Thanks Jane. I think a subject one like can be explored and done a lot of times. I usually get new ideas when I paint, things that could be done different, what if kind of thing.

  5. I think this one is my favorite so far. I think because of the colors. I like the angle of view also. Thank you for your comment on my pears, Roger. Are you concentrating more on larger paintings now? I notice you are not doing the challenges at DPW very much any more.

    1. Thank you for your comment, Gloria.

I try to let loose to push myself out of my comfort zone. I also like to paint on the big side and rough it. I usually hate if it looks too neat and boring.

When it comes to the challenges, I do the ones I like or think suit me. Not complaining about the quality of the challenges, some is just not me.
