Tree abstraction 7

Not For Sale

This is one of my personal favorites. It hangs now in my bedroom.
It is hard to predict how others will react to paintings. I have had favorites that went by without a fuzz and other paintings that I don't like (sometimes painted over) get a lot of views and comments. One reason can be that a photo doesn't always do a painting justice.

  1. After looking through all your tree abstractions again, I like this one the best as well. I think it has a more pleasing balance of light and dark.

I have the same unpredictable reaction to my work.

    Stay inspired!

    1. Thanks Michelle, glad you like it. I'm a little back to my "old self" when it comes to color, and I worked more with darkness than I have done for a long time.

  2. I know that the photo doesn't do your paintings justice because your paintings are so big! They must look awesome hanging together in one room!
    Happy Painting.

    1. Thanks Nora. As usual I let the painting speak to me, and I am never totally sure where it takes me. I have no reference photos for this series of tree abstraction series. I just go with my gut feeling.

  3. p.s.
#6 looks more like late evening/dusk light whereas this one could be a little later, at moon light. I am partial to the pink, but that's just my palette taste.

  6. I like the yellow highlights on the trees...perhaps hinting at some activity near the woods! Such a lovely piece to hang in a bedroom!

    1. Thanks Cheryl, glad you like it. Like on all my paintings, I try to get it done my way and am not bound to what it looks like in the real world.I interpret things, and people have to interpret my paintings. =)
