Tree abstraction 11

Testing putting price only on material and time used, not size.

I started darker with this one and worked from there. It made the trunks darker and made the painting more dramatic with those contrasts.

  1. Yes it did. Great play of colors. Trees are one of my favorite subjects. Their form really breaks space into an interesting interaction between positive and negative space. You are prolific.

    1. Thanks Linda. I love to paint trees too, and to find new ways to do it. It might be small things I do different, but it can have a big impact sometimes.

  2. Gorgeous Roger. :) The shapes of the leaves are what I find most interesting.

    1. Thanks Crystal.I have always kept things simple and clean, but lately I have started to play with structures and details in a way that is new for me.

  3. Une forêt d'arbres plus anciens, plus robustes... qui puisent leurs forces en capturant la lumière...
    Belle peinture.

    1. Thanks Martine. You are correct. I tried to play with the trees character a bit, making them a little bit thicker, and therefor seem older.

    1. Thanks Nora. I just go with my instinct, and it is fun to hear people interpret what they see.
