Tree abstraction 5

I jump one painting in my path of exploring, don't have a photograph of number 4. I went up slightly in size and went with more line work, especially with the white one. The previous paintings (Tree abstraction 2 & 3) was on the warm and soft side, so with this I went with a harder and cooler direction.

  1. J'imagine que la mousse est plus dense sous ces arbres... Les girolles y pousseraient volontiers...
    Belle peinture évidemment.

  2. I really like this one. I'm drawn up into the tops of the trees and enjoy the contrast of hard and softer edges. I also like the cool colors of the tree canopy which feels like it's receding.

    1. Thanks Robin, I tend to do my forest that way.
I want to have some edge, some personality to it, realism isn't my thing. Glad you like it.

    1. Thanks Crystal. Nice to hear that you like the line work, sometimes I think I overdo it. I went loose with them at this one, but I think it works.

  5. You went heavier with the line work but the values have balance. Looks like a mighty forest, powerful image. Love it Roger, well done!

    1. Thanks Karen. I like the progression of this tree series, and in my opinion, the best ones is still to be posted.
