Well, I know it is a strange name for this one, but I thought I continue with it since it is a container with fruit, even if it is only a glass. Found this fun glass at IKEA. It was also fun to scale things down after all those bowls with a lot of fruit.
I love the color scheme, especially those splashes in the background. And the quirky composition is fantastic too. :))
SvaraRaderaAlso I LOVE IKEA!!!!!! ;)
Thanks Crystal. I try to get the surroundings to have life, but not to out stage the subject.
RaderaI would call it 'Pear in a Glass ' , but either way I think it is a gorgeous painting...love this series.
SvaraRaderaThanks Jane. "Pear in a glass" would be appropriate, but since I doing a series I stick with the given name.
RaderaChrystal's right, your backgrounds are terrific, paintings by themselves. This is very nice in its simplicity. And I like the simple title too.
SvaraRaderaThanks Linda. I want the background to be simple and support the subject, hopefully that is enough.
RaderaYour loose strokes appear effortless. Does it all flow fast or are you thinking before you place them?
SvaraRaderaThis has a wonderful background, full of movement to contrast with the sturdy little glass.
Thanks Julie. Most brush strokes is made by instinct, a few is done because I feel they are needed.
RaderaI love this one! I like paintings that have a playfulness about them. Wonderful!
SvaraRaderaThanks Nora. If a paintings lack some kind of playfulness, I usually get bored with it and it never see the light.
RaderaI am really enjoying this fruit and bowl series Roger. Love the different perspectives and how the glass makes the fruit levitate.
SvaraRaderaThanks Karen, been fun to explore transparency. The pear doesn't levitate, it's just too big to touch the bottom.
