Tree abstraction 20

I often get the annoying question in my head "what am I going to paint now?" I often feel that I have to start a new painting the minute I finished the last one, keeping the momentum. I know that I have to breathe and take some time off from time to time, that it is a good thing.
When I am in doubt, I usually do things that I love, like the tree abstraction paintings. I start a journey and don't know where it will end until I get there.

  1. Isn't it interesting how each painting is a journey all by itself. Each one demands something a little different from us than anything we've done before. You do these so well. This one glimmers like an aquamarine the turquoise is so dazzling. Very nice Roger. I admire your consistency.

    1. Thanks Linda.
I love it more if the final painting is a keeper, but it is the journey that make me grow as a painter.

  2. Oh my, you just described exactly how I feel! Especially if I think the last painting I did was good, like who stole my brushes and painted this for me good. I feel like I have to try and top it. Crazy.

I do love your tree abstractions and this one is fantastic Roger. The perspective is especially nice, it makes me feel like I'm lying underneath it on a soft blanket looking up at them. :)

    1. Thanks Crystal.
In a perfect world it would happen all the time, but at least ones in a while a painting just click, from start to finish. Everything is easy and all decisions are the right ones.

  3. Looks like your mind's eye had a fish eye lens attached that day. :) I love the movement of the trees here, and the golden light. It's so fun to see where your imagination takes you in these abstract tree paintings. Makes me happy!

  4. En admirant cette dernière peinture, j'ai l'impression que les racines de vos arbres sont pêle-mêle en train de danser sur un tempo un peu jazzy...
Une très belle oeuvre où les couleurs donnent le "do"...

    Gros bisous.

    1. Thanks Stephanie. I know a lot of artists/painters got several paintings going on at the same time.I have usually only one going on, unless I get stuck and have to get some distance/objectivity regarding a painting.
