Bowl with fruit 4

Just so you are up to date. I started this one after I started on a very traditional composition with harmony, bowl in the middle of the canvas and I felt very strongly about it, but at the same time I was bored already. I usually avoid those compositions, but at the same time I know that it isn't what you paint, it is how you paint it.
I just let go with this one. I had taken this reference photo of a bowl with a slightly off-balance composition, but I liked it, so I gave it a go. I finished the other one too, but since I finished this one first, it got the number "4".

  1. I like this Roger. A lot. It's colorful. It's energetic. It's alive. The red apple against the green pears is spectacular. Your expanded palette is spectacular. This is a beauty.

    1. Thanks Linda. This one was fun to do. I got bored with "Bowl with fruit 5", and just let go. I did for example the bananas in 5 minutes, just a few brush strokes, and I just left it rough.

    Gros bisous.

    1. Thanks Martine. Glass is something I have started to explore. So far I have tried to interpret frosted and structured glass, will try clear glass soon.

    1. Thanks Julie. It is a balance, but as long as I do it my way, I think I can do more traditional still life. I get easily bored in the beginning, but when I get into it, it is a lot of fun. The next one is so far my favorite.
