This is an exploration into the dark zone, an almost gothic feel "Flower Exploration" painting. I really like it and might enter the dark zone again.

I painted this one to be a companion piece for "Tree Abstraction 61" and be part of my Easter exhibition. It was strange to paint this big and keep the simplicity, not going overboard with details. I had to take my time and make every brush stroke count.

This is one of the most complex landscapes that I have done. At first I did work more with depth, fading colors more in the distance, but it got so boring that I had to go my own way, after all, I am no realistic painter. It was a real challenge, but I like the end result.

I confess that I don't take a lot of time, figuring out smart and interesting names for my paintings, should I? I just pick names that gives an indication what it is.
I pushed the colors in this one, made a colorful wash first and then took it from there.

This the largest abstraction painting I have done so far and I used a panel with  rejected tree painting on it. I painted the whole panel with a red/pink transparent color, letting the old painting shining through, something I have done from time to time. That way I can use the patterns that is created in the new painting.

I did this one before I went with the limited palette. It got a more illustrative look and the path lead me to do more details than I initially had in mind, but that is part of the process.

I am sick with the flue, so not getting anything done right now. This is one of a series of paintings with a very limited color palette. The hardest part was to know when to stop, not overworking it.

This one was painted a while back. I have posted a similar one, same size, but  with a different color scheme. I experimented with colors on a smaller one first (6 squares) and finally did a large one with the same colors. I had a lot of fun doing these. Exploring and pushing my comfort zone.

I had no idea what painting to show. I don't dare to say how many I got to choose from, but I sat at least an hour before I had made up my mind.
I usually want to mix things up since I tend to do series of painting, but on the other hand I want to show my latest pieces. After some thinking I have chosen to post a subject that I have done and posted a lot, but have gone so abstract that I have decided to use the name of another series that is more abstract and has been influenced by nature. I also had in mind two paintings that I did with squares "Twelve squares of waterlily fun".

Wasn't sure what to post next, but since I haven't posted anything this weekend (think people have better things to do on a weekend) I continue with my tree explorations. This is also a favorite of mine. This one has a totally different vibe than "Tree abstraction 7", but I kept the same approach on both.

Not For Sale

This is one of my personal favorites. It hangs now in my bedroom.
It is hard to predict how others will react to paintings. I have had favorites that went by without a fuzz and other paintings that I don't like (sometimes painted over) get a lot of views and comments. One reason can be that a photo doesn't always do a painting justice.

This painting is one of my "key" paintings so to speak. It really spoke to me and took me in a new direction. Number "7", that came after this one, is one of my favorite paintings, and is hanging on my wall. I will show that one later.
