Apple abstraction 11

I have started to experiment with my lines in different ways, breaking them up, changing colors etc. This one doesn't have any black lines at all, which is strange for me, but it works at least on this one. This one isn't for sale at the moment, want to keep it as reference for further explorations.

Did take this progress picture with my iPhone at an early stage and I almost wanted to keep it like that, but I felt is was too unfinished. Too bad one can't have the cake and eat it.

  1. I was just about to sign out when up this jumped on my dashboard. It's beautiful. I like what you've done with the lines and the color is so warm and lovely. It's a beautiful painting Roger.

I was thinking about you yesterday. I was envying how you have found your subjects and your style and you stick with it, whereas I'm still floating about undecided. I can't seem to make a commitment. You are very fortunate.

  2. Wow. Your pinks really pop in the progress image. I have to say I love it. Of course the finished painting is wonderful but there is something about these colors that resonate with me.

  3. It's interesting to see you stretch in some new directions. Hope you stay true to your unique and recognizable trademark style but, at the same time, I know it's important to sometimes do some experimenting to stay engaged and keep things fresh. Very nice.

  4. It is very interesting to see your process. I just assumed you painted the black lines first, like I do with pencil for watercolour. Anyway, this one is beautiful. I really like your apples.

  7. Thank you all. I had a lot of fun with this one. I have been busy with other things, but I am returning to this kind of work again for sure.
