Four apples version 2

This is a larger version of an old favorite of mine. Since I don't have the original painting anymore and I thought there were some room for improvement, so I gave it a go.
I had to do some adjustments, balance the amount of details and the simplicity, but I think the result is what I aimed for.

I know that it is spring, and this is a look back to October last year when I did one of my all time favorites. That one was done on paper and this is my take on the composition now. I changed the composition to fit the square and I didn't look at the original painting. The result isn't that different from the one I did last year. Slightly less color, but I still love it.

This is my first of two paintings with this tulips composition. When I started the first one, I was not really in the mood for it, I'm into more earthy colors at the moment, and those bright red tulips didn't speak to me.
I started with it anyway, and went very rough with the brush strokes, at times too rough, wasn't sure if it would end well. I think it went OK, and it inspired me to do another one with different colors and not as rough. I really love the 2nd one.

I am not saying that I am back to my old self, but have been very creative lately, 6 paintings done and reworked an old one too. There has been a lot of forest/nature exploration, but have mixed it up with some other subjects too. This is the first of two similar paintings. Tried to keep it simple and graphic, but with a loose touch.

This is a simple Iris painting. Have no idea why, can't put my finger on it, but this is one of those photographs that doesn't do the painting justice.

A person commented on a painting a while back, and said at the same time that she would like to see me doing garlic. I did more or less promise that I would do it some day, so here it is. I loved the reference photo that I took a while back, but I wasn't thrilled about getting started with this one. But once I got into the painting, I had a lot of fun doing it.

 Another first one for me, in the double sense, since I have never eaten it before and I have never painted it before. Too be honest, haven't painted food before at all (fruits, berries etc. not included).
The food looked amazing, but I am not sure that the small parts that is showing gives the viewer enough information to recognize it, and I am not sure if I simplified all the parts in the right way. It was fun to paint at least, and I think I might try food again.... some day.

Back to nature, well Iris is part of nature, so back to the woods is more correct. I have done some Tree/forest paintings lately. This one is the first I did. Tried to keep it clean, semi-abstract and with loose brush strokes.

This one isn't new, but I thought I try the DPW auction again. The worst thing I know is to put a value on my paintings. There is several variables and reasons to raise or lower a price. It's hard to find that balance to make a painting affordable, but not to give it away.

One thing that I got against me is that since I live in Sweden I have to charge more for shipping and handling than an American painter, and most of my buyers live in the US. Just sending it cost 20$ or more depending on how much the package weighs.

Right now I feel my life is content and I am more interested in how some things will work out, than paint. I have never gone to any galleries or those venues to see if there is any chance of doing an exhibition, I should do that, been thinking about doing it.
I do paint, but I don't feel the pressure that I have to post a new painting on my blog everyday, or even sell anything.
I have done some more blueberry and raspberry paintings and this one was actually the 2nd I did, so it is a while back. It is in your face approach, a close-up.

I am not over blueberries yet, but thought I post this one, mix things up. After I did the eggshells for a DPW challenge, I had some more ideas that I wanted to try out, this is one of them.

Until a year ago, I wasn't much for using color. I never used colors like red or yellow, and if I did, I mixed the colors with a lot of white and black. Now my paintings explode with colors, so it is fun to go back and do things like this one.

I didn't buy this due to it's wonderful shape and character, but I found it in my fridge when I was cooking dinner, and I had to photograph it and paint it. The process did delay my cooking, but I love the painting, so it was worth it.

Well, this is a first, have never painted blueberries or raspberries. I thought these berries would be appropriate for this weeks DPW's "The Paint it Before You Eat it Challenge", so I gave it a go. It is always a challenge to simplify something, but I have to admit, those raspberries scared me.

This is my first painting I have done after my not attentionality break. A blank canvas can be so scary and it is hard when everything you do look like "s--t".
My intension right now is to do things I like doing, and have fun with it, play with it. So no masterpieces, but at least I will have fun and that is more important.

I have mainly worked in larger format lately. Posting three of them. The latest 2 paintings I worked on will probably not see the light, I like them stepping back, but I don't like them up-close. That means that I haven't had anything to show for a while.

I have also signed an license agreement with an American company and will work with them, more about that later, it is early days yet.

I did this yesterday and is my first tulips ever. I wanted this one to be a test,  I kept it loose and fresh. My next painting will probably be a larger tulip painting, unless I change my mind.
