Flower Exploration 44

This is a painting that I started/painted a while ago, before I started putting flowers into vases. It was my first experimentation with putting multi flowers together. The idea behind this one is a "Pile of flowers". I liked the result, but never finished it, didn't know where to take it. It sat there a long time, until I finally took the effort to do so.

This was a little experiment with multiple flowers, containing my signature graphic flower that was inspired by an Iris flower. I might explore some more with this. It is a small painting and was a real challenge.

Hard to find time to paint, which lead to overthinking and rushing to use the time I got, not a good thing when you have an expressive style.

It is easy that the focus is on producing instead of creating, but I do get some things done that I like.

This one started with an almost "night sky" effect with a lot of stars. I like when I can use the contrast of flat bold brush strokes with textures.

This is a painting that I would usually do on a bigger scale, but I liked the challenge and I think it turned out great.

Still painting, mixed results. The thing that I lost not painting for so long is the balance between control and let go. This is a simply flower, but has a lot of details. That works for this one, but more complex compositions, I need to find the detail balance, easy to get too busy.

When life happens, somethings have to change, which meant for me that I had to focus on other things than paint. I haven't painted for 2 years. I have tried to get it going a few times, but it wasn't in the cards.
I hope I can get going now, a slow start, but I have to work on balance between control and expression. This is a small starter, back to basics.

Well... not painting again..... am in the process of moving to a new house, packing and getting ready takes priority. This is one small paintings that I did as a way to "get back to painting" a while ago.

I guess that I have to start that process again, in our new house..... and hopefully sooner than later.

This might be the last post this year, or I might squeeze one more in before New Year. This is the third painting of 3 that I did with white background, keeping it clean, direct and no margin for errors.

Every brush stroke is visible and final, no corrections. I added some more colors in this one.

I have moved on from flowers in vases, at least for the moment. While I did them, I mixed things up  with other subjects and concepts. This is more of an abstract, inspired by the more traditional flower paintings. It is good to push things.

Sometimes it is a good thing to change things up when one is starting to get stuck, getting to repeat patterns. When it happens, I might go small, play with a single apple and try to put my spin on it.

And now ..... something totally different, but still me.

After posting some of the initial line work that I usually use in the beginning of a painting, and some of the reaction I got from it, I thought it might be something I could work with.

This painting is based on that idea, with some additional details. I will probably explore this more in the future.

I have really played around with this theme, color variations, approaches and expression. I am not sure why.... but I usually go with a theme until I got nothing more to add. I might do more at a later point, but it all depend if I feel the inspiration for that subject again.
