I am so behind showing what I have done, but too busy painting, a blessing in disguise. This painting is the result of being inspired by what I do. I saw a detail in a painting, and wonder how it would look as a separate painting.

Forest Exploration 21

This is the painting right now that inspire most when it comes to trees and landscapes. The problem for me is to not overthink it, not trying to replicate something that was pure instinct and confidence over my own ability.

This painting came from a very direct approach and I didn't overthink things. There is a fine balance between rough and polished and I am happiest when I find it. This one landed on the rougher side, but I had control enough to make it work.

Still not painting, well tried a few times, but overthinking is never a good thing. I am continuing making frames instead. My thought is that the color of the frames will suit the painting. Paintings that are chosen and framed will not be available for sale, unless you contact me. This is one of my abstract paintings that I painted earlier.

Working small is going great right now and I am trying to take advantage of it. This is a painting that are slightly larger and was done just before I went down in size. I love the limited color pallette.

I usually do these more complex multi flower abstractions on larger canvases, but I wanted to push my limits and do it on a smaller scale (12" x 12"). I am pleased with the result.

I hope I will get lots of interesting reference photos from our garden this year. There is a lot of berries growing. I call this series autumn berries because most berries get ripe late summer, early autumn and is more of a guideline.

This is a new painting in the series and the inspiration came from a painting that I sold during my Easter Exhibition. This one is a lot smaller though.

This painting was part of a larger painting that I had mixed feelings about. I am still not sure if I did the right thing cutting it down, but at least I got two small paintings that I like. I posted the other one earlier.

Autumn Berry Abstraction 6

This one has a little special history. I was painting a larger painting that I pushed outside my comfort zone. There were times when I loved it and times that I didn't. One of the worst moments I know, is when I think a painting got potentials, but need some corrections, but I am not able to get on with it. It can be that I am not sure what direction I want to take it or don't have the energy/drive to do it.

I did some corrections, but not in the right direction and I lost drive to continue. I still wonder if I did the right choice, but I scrapped it. I did take a part of it, a part I really liked and thought would work as a painting in itself. It is a little unconventional painting perhaps, but I like it. I have taken the concept and played a little with it on some small paintings too.

What to do when you love part of a painting, but not able to connect it all together? Well this one was a small part of a larger painting that didn't go in any direction that I liked. I removed the canvas from the frame and stretched this part on a smaller frame. I had to adjust a few things to make it work, but I think it was worth the extra effort.

This is a painting that I did in May. Painting whites and soft colors with my distinctive line work isn't easy or something that comes naturally. The natural thing is to go bold, use maximum color. I still can't judge this one. I like it, but is it something that I want to proceed with? Time will tell.

I am very satisfied with this one. It showed me that mixing soft and hard can work with bird's nest too. Have to find the balance in the soft part, can help or be a burden, all depend what you want from it.

Have done several small flower abstraction, but thought I mix things up with this slightly larger one. This one had it's ups and downs. It started great, took it too far in a direction that I wasn't sure about, and finally I pulled it all together, and went for it. A little rougher than usual, but I like the result.
