Bird's Nest Abstraction 70
Putting eggs in an abstract bird's nest makes it less abstract, but sometimes I like the mix things up and sometimes it works very well. This is one of those occasions. I also decided to go more "nature" with the colors.

Bird's Nest Abstraction 76
I still got a lot of paintings to show, but for the moment I am taking a break from painting, time to charge my batteries. I have painted a lot the last months and I need a break. I will use the time though to do something that has to be done sooner or later and time goes quickly. During Easter there is the annual exhibition "Konstrundan" happening here in Sweden. This year I will focus on my small paintings and like last year I will make my own frames to keep the art more affordable.
This painting is part of my abstract bird's nest series, but I tried to ad something new. I wanted to keep it abstract, but play with the background, ad an abstract "nature" feel.

This is one of my more colorful nest paintings. I wanted it to be less realistic, to be more about color and shapes. An explosion of shapes and color. I used a limited color pallette to give it a graphic look.

Autumn have taken over my life right now, putting the garden in order for the winter and making Jam and marmalade from the berries we got this season.
I got the idea that I am going up a few sizes and to a few bird's nest abstractions, inspired by this one. Love the colors and the graphic feel.

bird's Nest Abstraction 63
This is my first small duo bird nest painting and I think it worked out very well. The amount of detail all depend on how a painting progress and in this case I loved the simplicity and decided to not go further with it. I think that was the right decision.

Painting small has been working very well for me lately. That doesn't happen all the time. Working with expressive lines and brush strokes is hard to fit on a small space. My abstract bird's nests need a balance between complex line work and clean graphic execution.

Painting small seem large right now. I even felt comfortable adding eggs in this 8" x 8" painting. Eggs make it less abstract and I usually exclude them for that reason.

Bird's Nest Abstraction 57
Something that I wished that I had more of during my Easter Exhibition was small bird's nest paintings. I'm not sure why, but I had the impression that 6" x 6" was too small for me to do a nest like I want them.
After a few small flower paintings it was time to give it a try and I really love the result. It is a challenge, but a fun one.

On my last exhibition I had a small bird's nest painting that got sold early and I got several questions about it. It is a challenge, but I think it is time to put some more effort into small bird's nests. This one is the first one, not as small as the sold one, but small enough.

This is one of many paintings sold through my exhibition. It wasn't part of the exhibition, but was bought by a visitor.
I am in the process of updating all painting prices. The US Dollar currency rate has changed a lot the last year and I want the prices to reflect that. I am still not sure if I should include shipping cost or not, not all customers live abroad.

Bird's nest abstraction 55
I worked on this for a while. It was originally a flower abstraction that went nowhere I wasn't inspired and painting wasn't on my mind. At some point I decided to scrap it and have some fun with it. Working on a used canvas has it's benefits and disadvantages. On one side there is no pressure (can only get better), on the other side lower ones expectation and not taking things serious.
It took some time to get things right, but I had fun, got some inspiration, and I like the result.
