This is another of my recent small paintings. The challenge with these small paintings are for me to keep them simple enough, but complex enough. They must have a clear design and to have an impact of some sort. I must feel that they are interesting enough, not being just an afterthought.

Autumn Berry Abstraction 8
SOLD
I have been starting to focus my painting and focus to my upcoming "Easter Exhibition".
Going through what I got, I realized that I painted less last year and bigger than usual. It is not surprising that I painted less since I moved to a house and spent a lot of time reconstructing and planning the garden, something I look forward to continue soon.
I got enough to show, but I want to show more small paintings and am working on that right now.
This painting is a continuation of the "autumn berry abstraction" series and is a small, but playful and colorful addition to the series.

This is a larger version of a smaller favorite of mine. It's not a copy of the original, but a more complex version with similar colors. This one, the large one, will probably be part of my "Easter exhibition. I will keep the small one for now, as a future reference and inspiration.

Flower Abstraction 126
This is a small painting that has been around for a while. Haven't posted it earlier because I did a few similar versions of it and I didn't want to post them all together.

Autumn Berry Abstraction 4
SOLD
This one took a different direction than intended, but that is the fun thing with creating this way. I am going where the inspiration takes me, trusting my instincts.

Autumn Berry Abstraction 2 - On the wall
It is a very dark season up here in Sweden right now, taking pictures are not easy. I hope these pictures are good enough to do the painting justice and give an idea about the size.

Autumn Berry Abstraction 2
This one was mostly painted while I was down with a cold. Even if I didn't feel well, the process gave me energy and kept me motivated and I like the result a lot.

Autumn Berry Abstraction 1
This is my last painting for 2015 and it was a great challenge. Going bigger than usual. I tried to keep the balance between detail, contrast, simplicity and color. I wanted to keep the roughness, not cleaning up too much, not going too realistic. Well, it is hard to explain, I hope the piece speaks for itself.

Autumn Berry Abstraction 1 - Detail
My largest painting to date, is done. The question is: "when is the right time to post it?"
After all, it is the holidays, and New Year is approaching. Many people spend the time with family and friends, art might not be the priority.
Hear is a teaser anyway, a small strip of the painting.

Merry X-Mas and A Happy Creative New Year
I'm working on my largest painting to date. It is a real challenge and adventure working this big. I have no idea if it will be a success or not, but I learn a lot.
I want to take the opportunity to wish all viewers, buyers & subscribers a Merry X-mas and A Happy New Year. Thank you all for a great year.
Best wishes
Roger

Flower Abstraction 161
This was a great break, because it left me with some great energy and I am looking forward to paint again.
I felt that it was time to leave the non-figurative abstract art for now and I went back to my flower abstractions, but with the ambition to push my limits, going outside my comfort zone.
Didn't want to push too hard, just enough..... and I like the result.

What to do when you love part of a painting, but not able to connect it all together? Well this one was a small part of a larger painting that didn't go in any direction that I liked. I removed the canvas from the frame and stretched this part on a smaller frame. I had to adjust a few things to make it work, but I think it was worth the extra effort.

Feature about "Daily Painting"
A while back, I was contacted by the editor of an English art magazine called "Artists & Illustrators" regarding taking part of a feature about "Daily painting".
You can find the article and my contribution in the January edition, available now.
