Whenever I don't know what to paint or need something to get me going, (after a break for example), I paint something that I love to do. One of those subjects are berries and fruit and this one I did to get me started after my long break. It is big, colorful and I went with energy and bold brush strokes. Not sure why, but I have a blast when I do that.

This one was painted a while back. I have posted a similar one, same size, but  with a different color scheme. I experimented with colors on a smaller one first (6 squares) and finally did a large one with the same colors. I had a lot of fun doing these. Exploring and pushing my comfort zone.

It has been a while, but I hope I am back again. I have started painting again and I have gotten the energy back to continue. There are several reasons why I disappeared, some good ones and some bad ones. I did a few paintings that is connected with a project that I am involved in. Can't say much right now, but it is commercial. One part is finished, the 2nd part (involving the paintings I have done) isn't done yet.

To get into painting again, I did a 20" x 20" painting of berries, will probably show that one later, but as my comeback post I decided share two paintings that I did directly after that one, both with the same composition. I did the smaller one first and the went bigger and more detailed.

I can paint fall all year long and I am looking forward to go outside and take a lot of reference photos. This one was inspired from photographs taken last year and painted a while back. Still taking things easy.

This is two paintings that was done when I felt like really push the (my) limits. The first one I just went for it, experimented with colors and shapes and had a lot of fun doing it. I liked the result, but I wondered how it would look like if I took more control of it and kept it cleaner, so I painted the 2nd one. I like them both, but for different reasons.

This is a rather bold painting considering it's size and the simplicity in it's composition. I made it a while back and it was at that time I also started to work with other colors than black in my contour lines.

I did this a while back and I decided to go with the "Abstracture" series name rather than the "berry abstraction" one since it is more abstract and conceptional. A lot of experimentation going on and I had a lot of fun painting it.

I did earlier a very colorful painting with orange/red flowers, I really pushed the colors. I liked it a lot and decided to do a smaller painting with a new composition. I have started to fiddle with paint again, just as a way to get started again.

This is the painting that inspired my latest posts of blueberries (,cherries and raspberries). It is large and very in your face considering that some of the berries as large as a head, at least a child's head.
It is too hot for me to paint right now and don't have much spare time to sit down, but it's only summer once a year, right?
