I posted a rough face painting earlier, my first step in finding out how I want to express faces. This is my 2nd attempt and totally different than the first. I went big, very big and worked more on details, but still keeping things loose. These series of explorations are for sale if someone want to buy them, but I don't paint them for that purpose.

This is my take on the latest Studio Atelier challenge "Colorado Gold". I worked and took inspirations from the provided photo, but took enough creative license to make it work for me. It was fun and I really tried to go outside my comfort zone.

Dark cherries abstraction 1

I have been slacking lately and am running out of paintings to post, but as now I got at least 2 more to show.
This one was inspired by 2 previous paintings, Dark cherries & Healthy snacks 5 . I like this one a lot. It is low key, but the size gives it a big impact.

Someone wondered if I had a lot of my tree paintings on my walls and how it looked? Well, only got 2 in my bedroom.

Rough Cherries 1

I got more peppers paintings, but I thought I mix things up with one of my latest paintings. I have done a series of cherries paintings (12" x 12"). I have tried out different compositions, color combinations and I tried to keep them rough, some more, some less, but still rough.
I liked the feeling of freedom that came with the bigger size canvas.

Did this one a few days ago. I bought Persimmon fruits and tried some compositions (alone and with other objects). I really liked them in combination with Horse-chestnuts, but it isn't a secret that I love Horse-chestnuts. Here is the result anyway, a fun and playful painting inspired of one of the photos I took.

I finished the larger painting today and did also a small painting. The sun sets so early at this time of year, that when I got out to photograph the paintings, the light was so bad that I only got an "OK" photo of the smaller one, so that is the one I have to post. I will probably take new pictures of the paintings tomorrow, but this one have to do for now. (Have changed the photo, so now it is a more accurate photo).
The painting is a continuation of my first Birch-trees painting. This time I changed the palette and played a little more with it. I wanted it to be graphic and simple. I like the result.

I really notice the change in season, it is getting darker early here in Sweden, and I get less daylight to paint in.
I know I will have problem getting decent photos of larger paintings the coming months, so I think I will put more effort in painting small. This is the first one, a painting of bell peppers. It is similar in style to "A lot of tomatoes" painting.

Apple drowning in Horse-chestnuts

Yes I know, another Horse-chestnut painting, but haven't had time to really getting into a place where I could focus on what to do next, so I continued on the path I was on. I had the idea of massive amount of chestnuts and a hint of an apple, like it was covered or drowning. Here is the result.

Partially Abstract Purple Iris 1

I squeezed in some painting yesterday. Haven't had time to paint, so when the opportunity came I just let go and did this one. I call  it "Partially abstract" because I really didn't hold back. As you all know, I am no realistic painter, but even for me there is degrees, and I think this is one is one of the more "out there" Irises I have done.
Not sure what to think yet, am too close to be objective right now.

Avocado 1

Going through  my list of vegetable and fruit that would be fun to do or that I think look great, I finally got the the avocado. I think it's form and colors are fantastic. This is my first take on the subject.

Water Lilies 2011:17

Another loose painted water Lilies painting. I went for the close-up composition. Took some lovely pictures when I visited Lund's botanic garden. The water Lilies green leaves were so many that they rise above the water surface to get sun light.

And now something totally different, or not. Well I have done a lot of water lilies this year, after all, have been my favorite subject the last couple of years. This one is on the big side and was painted with larger brushes and tried to keep it fresh and not get caught on too much details.

And finally the last coneflower painting, think that is enough of them for a while.

Purple Iris 8

Once again I am going back to my latest favorite subject, the Iris flower. Am still trying new things, this time I kept it loose, even with the amount of details I was able not to overwork it. I am pleased with the result.

I am slowly getting back into painting again. I let statistics dictate what I should paint etc. Not a good place to be in. I have worked on some paintings with white cone flowers. I keep it simple, rough and just trying to get the groove back. This one is the first painting I've done since "The Nature's Arrangement Challenge", which also was a coneflower. I think they are fun and a little bit over the top, compared to daisies.
